On this day, in 1877, the ear muff was first patented in Farmington, Maine by Chester Greenwood. They were originally called the Champion Ear Protector. There are many varieties of ear muffs to fit most any personality. Though, wearing them could affect your hearing and you may be called Princess Leia.
