World Handshake Day

Place your hand in the sea and shake hands with the whole world, feel united.
This special day is the brain child of Ivan Zupa, who heard the following words from an old man: “My son, place your hand here in the sea and you are united with the whole world."
These wise words led to an idea, a vision especially after the tsunami disaster.

Zupa's idea is that we should take the time to put our hands in the sea and shake hands with the whole world and feel united. If you don't live close to the sea, you could put your hand in any body of water that runs to the sea to still shake hands with the world. Of course, if you live close to neither, shake hands anywhere with a stranger and tell them about this special day of friendship.

Handshake
A handshake is a short ritual in which two people grasp one of each other's like hands, in most cases accompanied by a brief up and down movement of the grasped hands. When making a bet and confirming the bet with a handshake; the instant that the two hands touch willingly, the bet becomes official.
The first handshake on human history is documented by the monument of Kalhu, showing the Assyrian king Shalmaneser III and Marduk-zakir-šumi I of Babylon shaking hands in a public display of Assyro-Babylonian friendship.
Archaeological ruins and ancient texts show that handshaking was practiced in ancient Greece as far back as the 5th century BC.
The handshake is thought by some to have originated as a gesture of peace by demonstrating that the hand holds no weapon.
